So I am sure you all have heard that the world is supposed to end on December 21st, 2012 at 11:11 am GMT or so say all the crazies (my apologies if you wholeheartedly believe this will happen). - graywolf97
It was decided on winepress.us forum to make Apple~ Pomegranate , after a lengthy discussion that the first fruits (Adam & Eve) quite possibly were Pomegranate’s- any which way- it was decided- and many people across the nation were starting this wine in preparation for the end… (joking)
My “FIN” wine recipe and notes follow;
started 2/28/10
- 1 cup of lees from Blueberry Rosso Vinaccia
- 1 quart apple juice
- 1 pint pomm juice
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 banana
- 2 +- pounds sugar
- 1.5 gallons water
- 2 tsp pectanase
SG.- 1.090
I Went to stir the “End of world wine- FIN” this morning, and it had a sulfur smell.
Quick Google and I had a plan.
The plan:
I first added another gallon of apple juice- then hit it hard with yeast food and nutrients, and a pinch of yeast, gave it an aeration with a whip.
came home tonight, and found a nice cap forming and no off smell…
I now have 2 gallons .

Hey Neil, glad to see that this is coming along well. I am interested to hear your final thoughts on the finished product.
Quite interesting, I had originally made just over a gallon of wine,
went to stir it this morning, and a sulfur smell. quick Google and had a plan.
I first added another gallon of apple juice- then hit it hard with yeast food and nutrients, and a pinch of yeast, gave it an aeration with a whip.
came home tonight, and found a nice cap forming and no off smell…
I now have 2 gallons – just incase the End doesn’t happen.
